We're asking you to support our proposals for Ashton Keynes, a plan for a renewable bioenergy plant, located on land west of Ashton Keynes. It would generate green fuel, supporting our transition to net zero and reducing dependence on foreign gas. It will also provide local farmers with guaranteed income and natural fertiliser.
We're proud of our plans because they'll:
Support local farmers who supply us, providing them with guaranteed revenue
Provide natural fertiliser, reducing reliance on expensive imported artificial alternatives
Help decarbonise our energy, transport and farming industries
Generate enough energy to power 8,700 UK households, more than five times the number in South Cerney
Reduce our reliance on imported fossil-derived gas from unstable parts of the world, keep energy prices stable and maintain our industrial competitiveness
Provide 15 full time equivalent jobs, with 35 further roles created in the supply chain
